Embrace yourself as it’s the wedding season in Bangladesh. The festive season of Bengal is closely knit with the raining and flood seasons. In the late autumn i.e. starting from the late October and November, towards the end of the winter, weddings are its peak. The troubadours are marching around the bay singing and writing verses for music. This is the peak season for festivities and sowing of sundry crops. This is also the time when the weather is more arid and less humid.
Climate and its effect on wedding
It is not the case that weddings only occur in winter. Quite the opposite, they happen round the year as is the case with the rest of the world. But since Bangladesh’s climate is tropical and most of the summer passes by bearing and fleeing the floods, therefore the most suitable time period remains winter. Moreover, the movement across cities and villages also remain easy during this time period.
The actual wedding
The kind of elaborate wedding functions, Bengalis have to go through, demands a lot of time and resourcefulness. They virtually spend weeks on one wedding. Like weddings across the world, women and men here too, love to dress up in the best sartorial possible. Hence, this is the time when vendors make their money out of the fabric they produced. People especially women throng bazaars and markets to buy the wedding clothes they need for wedding. It is not really about the bridal dresses, that they are looking for. Rather all the items and accessories related to wedding sell like hot cakes. Rings, jewellery, wedding gifts, men’s watches and wedding preparations as well. Everything is in demand during this time period. What is also increasingly trending in Bangladesh is the shift from manual buying and selling to the online marketplaces. Many ventures have taken this thing up to cater the increasing demand of buyers and sellers. Kaymu is one of those which provides all sorts of wedding ceremonies related products on its online portal. For more ideas and information “see here”
